Introducing ReHopped!
Introducing ReHopped!
The bhop servers are now public!
US 45.55.197.142:27015
EU 81.19.208.35:27035
Consider this as kind of an open beta testing. Which means the servers could go down for maintenance, times might get deleted if something major is changed, maps may be removed etc.
What I would like feedback on -
Map tiers.
Thoughts on maps.
Timelimits on maps. I have set them in accordance to difficulty/length.
Any issues/suggestions you might have.
All times from the closed testing period have been wiped. Have fun!

Re: Introducing ReHopped!
Just a bit of feedback:
On tiers, if a bhop difficulty rating system already exists in css, we should use that one. Otherwise, the tier system as it is is okay.
As for the maps themselves, I feel like each map where failing does not restart you to the beginning should be counted as staged (this might be all maps currently ported, but not all bhop maps ever), and each stage "checkpoint" should be a distinct stage - this may require reworking how many points everything is worth, since maps may have more stages than points available for completion. Making maps many staged would allow for better tracking of progress with !resume and could work around being set back multiple stages by failing in the wrong way.
I also think the point system should be revamped - there should be a greater focus on good times rather than completion - sure, you're pretty much guaranteed to get tons of top10 points if you start now because there are so few people, but in the future unless you're in the top10 it's mostly completion, as group points won't scale up that much. Even if the system remains mostly the same as it is know, it's worth thinking about how surf is different from bhop and how points should be distributed differently.
Finally, I'd like to see some "fly" bhop maps ported, such as bhop_together.

Re: Introducing ReHopped!
In regards to ported maps, didn't Butler have a zip file with a bunch of ported bhop maps in it from ages ago? I remember dling it a long time ago and I don't think any of those maps are included on the server right now.
Re: Introducing ReHopped!
Almost all of them had something that needed to be fixed. A few of them are done and on the server.ziddia wrote:In regards to ported maps, didn't Butler have a zip file with a bunch of ported bhop maps in it from ages ago? Also thanks for the feedback, zombie.

Re: Introducing ReHopped!
A small 10 slot aus server would be nice ._.

Changelog -
New update bent me over and fucked me.
Fixed missing checkpoint on bhop_lego2.
Also, bhop_lego2 now spams the console with errors. But only sometimes.
Semi-fixed exploit on bhop_aztec_tf2, thanks Dac. Times were also removed.
Added bhop_rising.
